Local Impact Made by the 2016 Southern Living Idea House at Mt Laurel

Posted on January 17, 2017

The Town of Mt Laurel is pleased to announce the 2016 Southern Living Idea House raised over $16,450 each for two Birmingham-based charities—Children’s Hospital of Alabama and the Mt Laurel Public Library.

In celebration of Southern Living’s 50th anniversary, Mt Laurel was a natural selection for the Birmingham-based publication’s annual idea house. From June through December of last year, over 8,000 visitors from across the county visited the 50th Anniversary Idea House and experienced the charm of Mt Laurel.

The money raised from admissions to tour the home will aid in ensuring Children’s Hospital of Alabama provides the most advanced life-changing equipment to the parties and doctors at Alabama’s largest Children’s Hospital. Additionally, each visitor was able to impact the Mt Laurel community by supporting the efforts of the Mt Laurel Public Library—which serves not only Mt Laurel, but other communities across north Shelby County.
