We support and partner with organizations working to build best-in-class education systems, programs, and leaders; improve education quality for all students; and protect natural resources for future generations.
Explore MoreFor over 40 years, EBSCO Industries has supported and advocated for United Way of Central Alabama (UWCA). UWCA works with more than 80 nonprofit organizations making a positive impact across the six-county Central Alabama region—including Blount, Chilton, Jefferson, Shelby, St. Clair, and Walker counties.
During its annual campaign, UWCA raises funds for local agencies. We amplify this impact with a generous match of our Birmingham team members’ donations.
Doing Well & Doing Good
Within our businesses, we strive to “do good and do well.” That effort takes multiple forms, including the examples below.
Aligned with our sustainability goals, EBSCO Industries is funding the creation and development of a portfolio of “mitigation banks” across the Southeastern United States. By enhancing and restoring wetlands, streams, and wildlife habitats to their natural condition, and ensuring their permanent preservation, mitigation banks generate meaningful environmental value. This approach supports healthier ecosystems, improves water quality, enables carbon sequestration, and promotes lasting biodiversity, while aligning economic development with genuine environmental stewardship.
Cherry Street Energy designs, installs, owns and operates industry-leading solar power systems for commercial and industrial customers in both the public and private sectors. Because Cherry Street owns these systems and sells the power, the company is driving higher adoption of emission-free renewable power as customers gain access to reliable, predictable energy generation at market rates with no capital investment. Every megawatt of Cherry Street’s installed annual capacity powers the equivalent of 150-200 homes and offsets 1,000 Metric Tons of CO₂ emissions from the atmosphere. The team at Cherry Street Energy wholeheartedly believes that “renewable energy has the capacity to power our economies, our communities, and our world.”
